I’m not a New Year’s resolution kind of girl, but I think I can share one little secret with you.
I’m working out. Well, sort of. For exactly 1 minute a day. That’s the only organized work out I can actually commit to. I’m the mother of a 5 year old, a wife, a writer, and a person who really, really hates going to the gym. But for 30 seconds, twice a day, I am strengthening my core.
It’s called the plank! And no, I’m not doing it in strange public places.
This picture isn’t of me. This woman already has a delightfully strong core. I’d be the exhausted woman with arms shaking as she watches the clock. It isn’t nearly as easy as it looks in this picture, but I’m hoping that if I keep it up for a few months, I might start making it look that way.
So there you have it–my brand new, non-resolution fitness routine. For one minute a day. I’m kind of proud of myself. Can you tell?
