This New Year, we say goodbye to the teens, and hello to the twenties! It’s the end of a decade, and a lot of people are looking at what they accomplished in that amount of time.
For me, my romance writing career blossomed and took off this decade, which has been the most exciting ride of my life. Most of my parenting happened this decade, as well, and Mr. Johns and I have added another ten years to our count of years married.
I’ve aged ten years. That happened to all of us! LOL!
This was me ten years ago.
And this is me now. Or close to now…
So yes, aging definitely happened between my early thirties and my early forties. But I like where I am–my forties feel great. Besides, the longer you live, the more you have to write about… the more people you meet, the more stories you hear, and the more you’ve thought about what what really matters to you. And that only comes with time served. I’m convinced that every year the passes makes me a better writer, for that very reason.
I hope the 2020s hold just as much adventure and love as the 2010s did. Every decade that passes reminds me of how grateful I am for this life I’m living. I hope you feel the same about yours!
Here’s to seeing what the next decade holds—Happy New Year, everyone!
