For the last couple of years, my friend and I have let our kids have a lemonade stand together in the summer. Our town is remarkably generous. People will stop and buy a cup of lemonade from the kids, and often pay with a five or ten and decline taking the change. So between the five of them, they clean up!
It’s very sweet. They grin and wave, hold their sign and sell their lemonade.
That’s my son holding the sign. ❤
It takes a little bit to start the customers coming, because people drive past, notice the lemonade stand, go run their errand, and then stop on their way back after they’ve thought about the cute kids out there for a few minutes and have managed to dig up some change or a bill.
But this year, their first customers were a fire truck, so that was very exciting for them! Lemonade and freezies for the firefighters.
And it was so picture worthy. 🙂
The summer is coming to an end, and the kids will be back in school soon, and I’ll be getting back into my writing routine again after a couple of months of sporadic work.
I have some new releases coming up in the next couple of months, and I’m excited to share them all with you! But in the meantime, we’re just going to drink up the last few drops of summer…
